The Certificate of Achievement in Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the City of Allen by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2019.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The Comprehensive Report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating full disclosure and clear communication of the City's financial condition in an easily readable format. This is the twenty-first consecutive year that the City has received this award.
The FY2020 has been completed and will be submitted to the GFOA for award consideration. We expect to receive the award again from GFOA.
The Certificate of Achievement plaque will be presented to the City Council with a brief presentation and recognition of the Accounting Division staff that were involved in the preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
