| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
The need to maintain the City of Allen fleet is a collective responsibility, ensuring safety to our City of Allen employees and citizens. Preventative maintenance and repairs to City fleet is an important daily operation. Routine schedules for repairs and maintenance reduce future repair costs and optimize fleet performance, maintain asset value, and extend the life cycle of the vehicles.
On December 6, 2019, the Purchasing Division received two responsive proposals. Craig's Car Care and Firestone have provided the overall best services and value to the City. Craig's Car Care will provide preventative maintenance and repair services. Firestone will provide oil changes and inspections. Firestone offers two facilities, conveniently located on Greenville Avenue and Stacy Road. Both organizations are certified through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.

Funding for fleet maintenance services are included in the City's departmental operating budgets.
