| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
Flow meters are currently installed at the Stacy Road and Custer Road Pump Stations. These flow meters are mandated by TCEQ and provide verification to the amount of water that is being sent out of our pump stations. These flows are audited yearly by TCEQ. They also provide a check to the amount of water that North Texas Municipal Water District claims they send the City. These flow meters function similarly to the water meter used by residential and commercial customers throughout the city; just on a larger scale. As these meters age, they begin to slow down, providing inaccurate readings. The current flow meters were purchased in 2006.
This project will replace two (2) flow meters located at Stacy Road Pump Station and one (1) flow meter located at Custer Road Pump Station, which have reached their useful life, for a total of three flow meters. This project will replace the flow meters with modern flow meters to continue to provide accurate counts as part of our routine system maintenance.

This project will be funded Water and Sewer Fund operating budget as outlined in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and the FY20 annual budget.

Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with RLC Controls, Inc., for the replacement of three flow meters at the Stacy Road and Custer Road Pump Stations in the amount of $118,760.
