Authorize the City Manager to Execute the Purchase of Video Surveillance Equipment from Allied Universal Technology Services (Previously Securadyne Systems) for the Allen Senior Recreation Center, Joe Farmer Recreation Center, The Edge and The Courses at Watters Creek with OMNIA Partners Through Texas Department of Information Resources Contracts in the Amount of $182,500.

PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:On June 25, 2019, the City Council approved an annual contract for the City's Security Camera System with Securadyne Systems to provide product, service, preventative maintenance, replacement and repair through Interlocal Agreements with OMNIA Partners and Department of Information Technology contracts in the amount of $360,000 with the option for four, one-year renewals.
BOARD / COMMISSION ACTION:On June 17, 2019, the Allen Community Development Corporation recommended approval for funding the Recreation Facility Security Cameras project for the FY20 Annual CDC Budget. 
ACTION PROPOSED:Authorize the City Manager to Execute the Purchase of Video Surveillance Equipment from Allied Universal Technology Services (Previously Securadyne Systems) for the Allen Senior Recreation Center, Joe Farmer Recreation Center, The Edge and The Courses at Watters Creek with OMNIA Partners and Department of Information Resources Contracts in the Amount of $182,500.



BACKGROUND

Each year, new projects are requested to add or upgrade video surveillance to facilities that improve security. In 2019, the Community Development Corporation approved a project that included new and upgraded video surveillance at Allen Senior Recreation Center, Joe Farmer Recreation Center, The Edge and The Courses at Watters Creek. 

 

Allied Universal Technology Services will provide services including equipment (cameras, mounts, poles, etc.), installation, programming and solution engineering for the project amount of $182,500. 

 

This purchase will not affect the annual service agreement or preventative maintenance, rather the new equipment will be covered by the existing preventative maintenance agreement (see attached existing annual contract).


BUDGETARY IMPACT

This purchase will utilize Community Development Corporation funds approved for FY2020. 

 

This purchase will utilize interlocal agreements with OMNIA Partners, Contract #R161701, and Department of Information Technology, Contract #DIR-TSO-3467.


STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a purchase with the contracted vendor Allied Universal Technology Services (previously Securadyne Systems) to provide video surveillance equipment for the Allen Senior Recreation Center, Joe Farmer Recreation Center, The Edge and The Courses at Watters Creek with OMNIA Partners and Department of Information Resources contracts in the amount of $182,500.
MOTION

I make a motion to authorize the City Manager to execute a purchase with the contracted vendor Allied Universal Technology Services (previously Securadyne Systems) to provide video surveillance equipment for the Allen Senior Recreation Center, Joe Farmer Recreation Center, The Edge and The Courses at Watters Creek with OMNIA Partners and Department of Information Resources contracts in the amount of $182,500.
