| | | | | | | | PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: | On July 13, 2010, City Council adopted an Ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 6 "Health and Environment," in order to establish a Storm Water Management Policy.
On November 24, 2015, City Council adopted an Ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 6 "Health and Environment," in Order to Amend the Storm Water Management Policy. |

| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
As part of the requirements under the Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (TPDES) permitting process, the City of Allen is required to formalize by ordinance its policies and practices related to the management of storm water runoff and storm water pollution. On January 24, 2019, The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) reissued the Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) General Permit, creating the need for review and revision of our stormwater ordinance.
The revisions are proposed to update the Ordinance to reflect language updates in the new permit and provide consistent implementation to ensure compliance to the extent allowable under state, federal and local law.

Staff recommends that the City Council adopt and Ordinance amending Code of Ordinances Chapter 6 "Health and Environment" Article VII "Storm Water Management" amending the City's Storm Water Management Regulations.
