| | | | | | | | | PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: | On October 23, 2018, City Council approved the upgrade of the city's storm siren network from analog to digital.
On July 9, 2019, City Council adopted an Ordinance authorizing the Issuance and Sale of Tax Notes, Series 2019. |

| | | | | | | | | ACTION PROPOSED: | Authorize the City Manager to Execute the Purchase of Nine (9) Additional Outdoor Warning Sirens from Acoustic Technologies, Inc., as the Sole Source Provider in the Amount of $375,355.

| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
The City of Allen has experienced tremendous growth since the storm siren network was first installed. Sound study projections have shown that several areas exist that need enhanced coverage. This project will install nine brand new storm siren sites in those key areas and allow for better service to the citizens of Allen in the event of an emergency.
Outdoor warning sirens provided by Acoustic Technologies, Inc., are compatible with existing equipment with the unique design and quality that are not available in comparable products.

The funding for this project was allocated in the parameters resolution with the issuance and sale of "City of Allen, Texas, Tax Notes, Series 2019."

Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to purchase nine (9) additional Outdoor Warning Sirens from Acoustic Technologies, Inc., in the amount of $375,355.
