ACTION PROPOSED:

Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Contract with William H. Company, LLC., for the Construction of Heritage Park Renovations in the Amount of $449,580.

BACKGROUND

Heritage Park is a "pocket" park and is 20 years old.   The playground equipment and other amenities need replacing and upgrading and the trail through the park needs to be widened. The needs of this park called for improvements to the entire site. Given the limited variety of park uses and the small size of the park, the Park Planning staff have determined that the park should retain its original design intent and functionality.

The Purchasing Division received ten (10) responses to Bid # 2019-9-85 on October 24, 2019.  Staff believes it is in the best interest to award to the low bidder, William H. Company, LLC., who met the specifications for this project for a total of $449,580.

BUDGETARY IMPACT

The project is to be funded by a combination of CDC Funds, Trail Funds, and Park Development Fees.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with William H. Company, LLC., for the construction of Heritage Park Renovations in the amount of $449,580.
