The Parks and Recreation Department hired BRS Architecture in 2018 to prepare a feasibility study for the proposed recreation center, currently referred to as the Exchange Parkway Recreation Center. The study is comprehensive, providing the City with an architectural vision for the future facility as well as a market analysis that yielded programmatic and operational information for how the facility will be used, how much it will cost to build and how much it will cost to operate and maintain.
The study was prepared over a 12-month process that included three public meetings and five workshops with a mayor-appointed Steering Committee.
Staff intends to secure full architectural and engineering services for the facility by January of 2020.
