| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
The Bethany Drive and Heritage Parkway intersection is controlled by an old signal, which used to only function as an emergency signal for Fire Station #2. As a result of the conversion many years ago from limited operation, to full red-yellow-green, the signal is not compliant with current standards. This project will rebuild the signal entirely, replacing all existing signal equipment with new traffic signal poles, mast arm, and all video detection systems. The scope will also include new pedestrian push buttons, which do not currently exist, providing pedestrians a signal for a safer crossing. The Engineering Department has ordered the traffic poles and video detection cameras to reduce cost by avoiding contractor markup as well as material delays.
