|

|
| | | | | | | | ACTION PROPOSED: | Adopt a Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Apply for, Accept, Reject, Alter or Terminate a Grant Through Collin County Parks and Open Space Funding Assistance Program for Design of the Eugene McDermott Park / Rowlett Trail. |
|
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
Ms. Margaret McDermott's desire to
preserve her land is realized through her donation of 104.5 acres of land along
Rowlett Creek. This land is identified as a primary Rowlett Creek trail corridor
in the Collin County Parks and Open Space Master Plan. Two major segments of
the Rowlett Trail are to be designed, one on each side of Rowlett Creek as outlined in the attached project location map.
|
| | | | | | | | BUDGETARY IMPACT
Overall design costs for the two trail segments are estimated to be $150,365. The Collin County Parks and Open Space Funding Assistance Program funds are reimbursable, requiring the City to first expend design dollars and request reimbursement. The value of the McDermott property donated exceeds our request and will be used as the City's required match.
|
| | | | | | | | STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to
apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate a grant through the Collin
County Parks and Open Space Funding Assistance Program for design of the Eugene McDermott Park / Rowlett Trail.
|
| | | | | | | | MOTION
I make a motion to adopt Resolution No. _______________(R) authorizing the City Manager to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate a grant through the Collin County Parks and Open Space Funding Assistance Program for design of the Eugene McDermott / Rowlett Trail.
