ACTION PROPOSED:

Confirm Appointments of Councilmembers to Place No. 7 on the Allen Community Development Corporation and Place No. 1 on the Allen Economic Development Corporation as Nominated by Mayor Terrell.


BACKGROUND Section 1.3 of the City Council Rules of Order and Procedure states: "At the commencement of the City Council, the Mayor nominates and the City Council confirms Councilmember appointments to outside agencies, committees, task forces, boards and commissions, and liaison appointments. Councilmembers provide a link for representing the values, beliefs and position of the City Council to these entities. The representative will periodically report to the City Council on the activities of these organizations." Currently, the following are serving in these places: Community Development Corporation, Place No. 7 - Robin L. Sedlacek Economic Development Corporation, Place No. 1 - Steve Terrell


STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends confirming appointments of Councilmembers to the CDC and EDC.
