Collin County, Texas, is consistently ranked in the top ten fastest growing Counties in the United States. As such, enhancements to the infrastructure within the County and its 29 cities must occur in order to meet the transportation needs of its citizens.
The Collin County Commissioner's Court, at its meeting on August 20, 2018, ordered a Bond Program Election for critical transportation projects in anticipation of the projected population growth in Collin County, with the goal to fund construction of limited access roadways, principal arterials connections, and partnerships with cities on critical thoroughfares on the County Thoroughfare Plan.
One of the proposed propositions also includes funding for open space improvements to ensure preservation of key natural resources and additional parks and open space within the cities located in Collin County.
Both a preservation of parks and open space along with an improved transportation network will benefit residents of both the City of Allen and Collin
County and ensure that our quality of life will be maintained during this
period of rapid growth and development.
