| | | | | | | | ACTION PROPOSED: | Authorize the City Manager to Purchase Thermal Imagers and Associated Equipment for the Fire Department from Municipal Emergency Services in the Amount of $166,086. |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
The Fire Department has used the existing thermal image equipment for the past 10+ years and it is time to replace the equipment. The current, helmet mounted thermal imagers are no longer supported by the manufacturer.
This purchase will replace all thermal imagers with newer technology. In fact, the Scott Sight Thermal Imagers are mounted in each individual fire fighters' mask and allow for a complete thermal view in any direction that they look. There will also be handheld thermal imagers that can be used on service calls when wearing a mask is not practical.
| | | | | | | | BUDGETARY IMPACT
These devices will be purchased with Texas Ambulance Supplemental Payment Program funding which was received as a Grant from the Texas Department Of Health and Human Services.
