Adopt an Ordinance Amending the Code of Ordinances Chapter 6 by Amending Section 6-235 Adopting Local Amendments to the Texas Food Establishment Rules; and Amending Section 6-242 by Adding Subsection (e) Relating to Bringing Non-Compliant Facilities or Equipment into Compliance.

ACTION PROPOSED:

Adopt an Ordinance Amending the Code of Ordinances Chapter 6 by Amending Section 6-235 Adopting Local Amendments to the Texas Food Establishment Rules; and Amending Section 6-242 by Adding Subsection (e) Relating to Bringing Non-Compliant Facilities or Equipment into Compliance.




BACKGROUND

This item amends the Code of Ordinances by changing Chapter 6 "Health and Environment" Article VIII "Environmental Health".

 

The purpose of this amendment is twofold. First, minor amendments are proposed to be consistent with the most recent Texas Food Establishment Rules and other miscellaneous operational standards. Second, language is proposed that would permit owners of food establishments the option to permit dogs on outdoor patios, provided that the proposed regulations are followed.


STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends approval.

I make a motion to adopt an Ordinance Amending the Code of Ordinances by amending Chapter 6 "Health and Environment" Article VIII "Environmental Health."
