Allen Event Center has regularly hosted professional arena soccer over
five seasons, beginning in November 2012. The Dallas Sidekicks played home
games at the facility as an affiliate of the Professional Arena Soccer League
(PASL) for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons. For the 2014-15 season the team
merged into the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) where it continued play
through the 2016-17 season. Prior to the 2017-18 MASL season team ownership
chose to take the season off to allow for re-organization.
Allen Event Center staff worked diligently with the MASL to
achieve a successful return of professional soccer to Allen for the 2018-19
MASL season. A new ownership group emerged, SideK Sports Management, LLC, to
take on the Dallas Sidekicks brand and relaunch MASL Soccer in North Texas.
Allen Event Center again will be the home facility and bring a sixth season of
professional soccer to Allen, Collin County and North Texas.
An
Arena License Agreement specific to the new ownership is being proposed. The
agreement follows the same general structure of prior sport tenant agreements
with some restructuring to fit the operating plans of the new ownership group.
The Arena License Agreement is for three years, with option to renew for an
additional three years. The team will host 12 regular-season home games plus
playoffs per season, with the season falling between November and March.
