Project Description: Through staff inspection of the sanitary sewer main across Watters Creek near Waterford Park, it was determined that the sanitary sewer main is now exposed due to creek erosion.  

Project Support: This project will stabilize the banks and provide structural support for the continued integrity of the sanitary sewer main.  

Construction Contract: The City Manager has executed an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Duncanville allowing the City of Allen to utilize contracted pricing as bid and awarded by Duncanville. This agreement allows the City of Allen to utilize Knight Erosion Control, Inc. as a contractor to armor the creek bank. On May 24, 2018, a proposal was received for this project from Knight Erosion Control, Inc. to provide the services.  

Project funding will utilize unprogrammed funds within the Capital Improvement Program (i.e. project savings and revenues from developers within WA9999).

Staff recommends that the Council Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Knight Erosion Control, Inc. in the amount of $137,463 for the Waterford Park Sanitary Sewer Creek Crossing Stabilization Project.
