The City of Allen and the City of Plano both provide training courses to their employees and have selected to partner through a mutual agreement whereby either party may offer training to the other city through their respective Human Resources Departments.

Training classes available to employees include the topics of Leadership, Management, Customer Service, Diversity, Desktop Computing and Professional Development in addition to special courses.  Up to 4 seats are made available to the partner city for employees to fill when attending the training, and class prices per employee are outlined in Exhibit "A" of the Interlocal Agreement.

Employee training and development expenses are programmed into the Human Resources Department Operational Budget for employee training as well as each department's employee training and travel budgets.  No budgetary impact is anticipated.

Staff recommends the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Allen and the City of Plano for city employees to participate in training courses.
