| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
The existing chiller #2 serving City Hall is the original unit from 2000. After 17 years, the unit is nearing the end of its life expectancy and is experiencing recurring maintenance issues. Replacement of this chiller is part of the on-going efforts of city staff to upgrade and replace old equipment as necessary. A new unit will be more efficient and reliable.
On December 12, 2017, a total of 9 bids were received and the five (5) lowest are as follows:

The bid specifications were for a Carrier brand chiller. Infinity did provide an alternative bid for a different brand for a reduced amount, but it is recommended to award to Infinity with the Carrier brand chiller as specified in the bid.

This project is being funded through the General Fund facilities upgrades approved for fiscal year 2018.

Staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Infinity Contractors International, LTD in the amount of $127,350 for the Replacement of City Hall Chiller Unit #2.
