Adopt An Ordinance Amending Section 5-2 of the Code of Ordinances, Adopting a Revised Personnel Policy for the City of Allen Fire Department Regarding Records Retention.

PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:

On February 24, 2004, The Allen City Council adopted Ordinance 2264-2-04 establishing a Personnel Policy for the Allen Fire Department.  

ACTION PROPOSED:

Adopt An Ordinance Amending Section 5-2 of the Code of Ordinances, Adopting a Revised Personnel Policy for the City of Allen Fire Department Regarding Records Retention.




BACKGROUND

On February 24, 2004, The Allen City Council adopted Ordinance 2264-2-04 establishing a Personnel Policy for the Allen Fire Department. The Personnel Policy defines the hiring, promotion, disciplinary and records retention policies for the Allen Fire Department. The proposed amendment would update the retention schedule for fire department employee personnel files to mirror the retention schedule for the remainder of the City of Allen employees.


STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends adopting an Ordinance amending section 5-2 of the Code of Ordinances, adopting a revised Personnel Policy for the City of Allen Fire Department regarding records retention.

I make a motion to adopt an Ordinance amending section 5-2 of the Code of Ordinances, adopting a revised Personnel Policy for the City of Allen Fire Department regarding records retention.
