Lake Texoma Circle to Lake Whitney Lane

A North Bethany Lake Estates plat included a segment of roadway named Lake Whitney Lane south of Lake Tawakoni Drive, but labeled it Lake Texoma Circle north of Lake Tawakoni Drive.  Although the northern section was platted as Lake Texoma Circle, the entire road has been signed and referred to as Lake Whitney Lane since the homes were constructed. There are no residential addresses affected by this change. 

Rivercrest Drive to Rivercrest Boulevard

The plats dedicating and naming Rivercrest Boulevard resulted in a section between Roaring Springs and Spring Willow Drive to be named Rivercrest Drive. When travelling this roadway, the suffixes change from Boulevard to Drive and then back to Boulevard.  Consequently, staff is recommending renaming the section of Rivercrest Drive to Rivercrest Boulevard. Even though this segment of road is platted as Rivercrest Drive, the entire roadway has been signed and identified in internet mapping tools as Rivercrest Boulevard all along.

This ordinance formalizes the official process of renaming the streets for consistency. The GIS Division of Information Technology will notify the Collin County Appraisal District, Mapsco, and other necessary agencies of the changes.

Staff anticipates no budgetary impact. The existing street name signs already reflect the requested changes. 

Staff recommends that the City Council adopt an Ordinance changing the name of a portion of "Lake Texoma Circle" to "Lake Whitney Lane" and a portion of "Rivercrest Drive" to "Rivercrest Boulevard."
