| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
Section 2051.049 of the Texas Government Code provides that the City Council shall select one or more newspapers to publish notices. The City of Allen has contracted with The Allen American as its official newspaper since 1982. This year, the City of Allen is designating The Dallas Morning News as its second official newspaper.

| | | | | | | | STAFF RECOMMENDATION
City Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a Resolution designating The Allen American and The Dallas Morning News as official newspapers for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 in order to meet the requirements of State Law.
