On July 11, 2017 City Council adopted an Ordinance changing the name of "Venture Drive" to "Guardian Way". NetScout Systems had announced their intention to occupy a new 145,000+ square foot office building on Venture Drive and indicated that the renaming of Venture Drive would positively influence their relocation to Allen.  

NetScout inadvertently endorsed the name "Guardian Way" and did not notify city staff until after the passing of the name change Ordinance that the correct name should have been "Guardians Way" to more appropriately reflect one of NetScout's technology products.  The GIS Division of Information Technology will notify the Collin County Appraisal District, Mapsco, and other necessary agencies of the change. The attached Ordinance corrects the name change through a scrivener's error.

Staff anticipates no budgetary impact. The existing budget for the Traffic Division of the Engineering Department is sufficient to fund the cost of sign replacement in the public right-of-way.

Staff recommends that the City Council adopt an Ordinance changing the street name of "Guardian Way" to "Guardians Way."
