Recognition of the City of Allen Finance Department as Recipient of the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the Eighteenth Consecutive Year.

BACKGROUND

The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada has awarded the Finance Department of the City of Allen the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its Fiscal Year 2016-2017 budget document. The award reflects the commitment of the City Council and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the budget award, the City had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity's budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications device. The GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting.

 

This is the eighteenth consecutive year for the City of Allen to receive the GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
