The Windridge Park Property is located at the corner of Hanover and Cambridge. After a fire destroyed the two homes located here, the city took ownership of the two lots and made plans to develop it as a park at a later time. At less than one acre in size, Windridge Park will be classified as a pocket park. Parks and Recreation staff hosted a Pop Up Park event in November of 2015 that served as an informal public input meeting. All residents of the neighborhood were invited to come out to share their thoughts and ideas for the project. Staff received considerable positive feedback and took note of the residents' (adults and children) input. These ideas were shared with DCBA Landscape Architecture who was hired to design the park. 

The construction plans are for a turnkey project that includes a large play structure, two bays of swings, a pavilion, a small sport court, seating, lighting, and landscaping. 

The Purchasing Division advertised the project for bidding and received six (6) responses to Bid #2017-3-64 on June 22, 2017.  Staff believe it is in the best interest of the City of Allen to award to the lowest and most qualified bidder, North Rock Construction, LLC., who submitted a bid for this project for a total of $413,879.

The project is funded from Allen Community Development Corporation funds allocated for Windridge Neighborhood Park, Neighborhood Park Bonds, and Park Dedication Fees. The total project budget is estimated at $452,157, which includes park design, TDLR & testing, and construction costs.
