| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
This amendment allows for the keeping of backyard chickens on residential properties. The proposed ordinance would allow up to 6 hens, kept in a coop, and setback 10 feet from adjacent property lines. The proposed ordinance also includes provisions for a one-time permit to keep backyard chickens.

Staff recommends that the City Council adopt and ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 3, "Animals and Fowl", relating to the Keeping of Backyard Chickens.
